The inaugural ceremony of the four-day long Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme

Namchi, February 25 (IPR): The inaugural ceremony of the four-day long Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme was held at the Officers’ Club, Namchi, today.
The event was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Namchi, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The ceremony was graced by Mr Pravin Gautam, SDM Namthang as the Chief Guest, whereas, Mr Bhupendra Kumar Chettri, AD Sports and Youth Affairs as a Special Guest. Also present were Mr C.K. Pradhan, S.I. Namchi Police Station, Mr Sourav Barman, DYO NYK Namchi alongwith participants from the district and Jharkhand.
In his address, Mr Pravin Gautam warmly welcomed the participants and praised Nehru Yuva Kendra for organizing the programme. He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, for their active support and involvement in the initiative.
The programme was aimed to celebrate India’s unity in diversity, strengthen emotional bonds among citizens, and promote national integration through structured engagement between states and union territories. It sought to showcase the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of each state, fostering a shared sense of identity. Additionally, the initiative encouraged mutual learning, understanding of challenges faced by different regions, and appreciation of diverse customs while emphasizing the underlying unity of the nation. While, it is also to motivate and to instill pride and communal harmony amongst the youth.
The inaugural ceremony featured various cultural performances by participants, showcasing their traditional dance form of their respective region.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr Pragyandeep Gurung, while Mr Sourav Barman, DYO of NYK Namchi, gave a welcome address to all attendees.
