Namchi, 4th October (IPR): The Incident Response Team from Namchi District headed by DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar alongwith other officials visited the low lying disaster areas due to the incessant rainfall of 3rd October under Namchi District, today.
The DC has activated all the Disaster Management Committees and teams to carry out rescue and relief operations. Officials and other stakeholders have been deployed with the evacuation process. In namchi district it was reported that L.D. Kazi and Indreni Bridge has been washed away.
A temporary relief camp has also been set up at Pranami Mandir (Namphing) Devi Mandir (Adarshgaon), the incident commander for both the places is SDM (Namchi). Another camp is at Bhawana School (Mamring), the incident commander is BDO (Namthang) and in Melli, the Handmade Paper Unit Office, Upper Chalisey has been turned into a camp, the incident commander is SDM (Jorethang).
