The Union Minister for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar visited Namchi District

Namchi 13th May (IPR): The Union Minister for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar visited Namchi District, today.
He was accompanied by Minister Building and Housing Department Mr. Sanjit Kharel, MLA Melli Constituency Ms. Farwanti Tamang, District Collector Namchi Mr. M. Bharani kumar and Officials from different line departments.
During his visit, he inspected various locations in Kitam, including the houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Kitam ICDS, Health and Wellness Centre, Village Administrative Centre at Kitam Manpur GPU, and road connected to Gom Village which is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
He also attended a short program at Kitam Senior Secondary School and interacted with teachers and students.
During his interaction, he spoke about “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” program, which aims to promote mutual understanding and interaction between people of different states and Union Territories. He emphasized the importance of unity in diversity and urged the students to take inspiration from the program. He also encouraged them to set goals early in life and work hard to achieve them. Moreover, the Union Minister appraised the students to collectively build an Atmanirbhar society wherein one and all can flourish.
Then he presided over a meeting with the HoDs of Namchi District at the chamber of District Collector. During the meeting, he emphasized the central government’s focus on developing the North East states and ensured that various central funded schemes are implemented properly.
Further, he highlighted the importance of schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and stressed on the importance of utilizing these schemes to develop the state. He also met with beneficiaries of PMJAY during the meeting.
After the meeting the Minister visited Siddheswar Dham in Namchi, followed by JNMIH Blind School and an Old Age Home. During his visit, he interacted with students and elderly residents, inquiring about the facilities and basic amenities provided to them. The Minister checked the living conditions and expressed his commitment in ensuring proper care for them.
