The Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with ICDS Namchi- Zone 1 under Namchi Rural Project conducts Poshan Maah program
Namchi, September 23 (IPR): Poshan Maah program was successfully conducted at Sorok Syampani GPK by the Women and Child Development Department and ICDS Namchi- Zone 1 led by Mr Bidhan Rai.
Present during the program were Ms Sushmita Khati (Zilla Panchayat Member), Mr Laxman Tamang CDPO (South), Ms Debika Rai (Panchayat President), Ms Roshni Thapa (Health Educator), Ms Gita Chettri SRLM (BPM), Ms Mithila Rai Niti Ayog (Block Fellow), Mr Bidhan Rai (ICDS Supervisor), Nuitrition Inspector, Welfare Inspector, Poshan DC and BC, AWWs an AWHs.
A short rally was held at Sorok Syampani GPK to kick off the program aimed at promoting awareness of good nutrition.
Ms Sushmita Khati, Zilla Panchayat Member and Chief Guest of the event, extended her gratitude to the organizers and assured her full cooperation in ensuring the program’s success. She emphasized her commitment to supporting the initiative throughout its course.
Mr Laxman Tamang (CDPO) provided a brief overview of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, emphasizing its role in raising awareness about nutritional challenges and combating anemia. He discussed healthy eating habits and stressed the importance of incorporating millet into daily diets as a strategy to address anemia.
Ms Roshni Thapa (Health Educator), also contributed to the discussion on Poshan Maah by explaining the symptoms of anemia and the procedures for testing. She highlighted the crucial role of regular health check-ups and stressed the importance of both mental and physical well-being for overall health.
The program also included traditional dance and song performances by children from ICDS and Anganwadi Workers.
