DirectionIndian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Ecotourism (IHCAE), Chemchey is ideally located in the pristine mountains of the Central Himalaya on the lap of the world’s third highest peak, the majestic Mt. Khangchendzonga. IHCAE is the first institute of its kind in India to have achieved the remarkable feat of proudly unfurling the Institute flag on the “On the TOP of World” Mount Everest not once, not twice but thrice. And all this within four years of its inception (i.e. 7th Nov 2009).
The mission of the centre is to initiate, develop and sustain the highest levels of excellence for adventure and eco-tourism through safe, environmentally responsible activities, to develop local skills and to sensitize on established traditions.

How to Reach:
By Air
The closest Indian Airport is Bagdogra, 110 kms away from Chemchey. Scheduled flights operate to and from Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati and Bangalore. Taxi cabs can be availed at reasonable fares from the airport itself.
By Train
The closest rail station is at New Jalpaiguri(NJP) which is around 95 kms away from Namchi. It is a 12 minute route from Namchi to IHCAE Chemchey. It is connected to Kolkata, New Delhi, Guwahati and other major Indian cities.
By Road
Private Taxis, Jeeps and Buses ply regularly on the Chemchey - Namchi - Siliguri Highway. You may also contact & reserve the taxis from Tourist Department, Govt. of West Bengal, and Sikkim for local sightseeing at fixed rates.
