Training for Counting Officials Concludes at Namchi District
Namchi, May 29 (IPR): The final round of training for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro Observers was successfully concluded at Townhall Namchi today.
The training session was attended by Ms. Bhumika Chettri, Deputy Secretary Election Cell Namchi, Mr. Tshering Norgyal Theeng, SDM Yangyang, Mr. Gopal K. Chettri, SDM (HQ) Namchi, along with other officials.
Mr. Gopal Kumar Chettri, Nodal Officer (Trainings), briefly addressed the trainees about the importance of their roles during the counting process and how this training will define the entire electoral process. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the session and stressed that any negligence on the part of Counting Officials would result in disciplinary action by the commission.
Ms. Bhumika Chettri, SLMT, summarised the entire counting process in detail, explaining what the counting officials would undergo on counting day. She actively engaged with the trainees, clarifying doubts.
Additionally, she highlighted the filling of Form 17C Part II and gave detailed instructions on Forms 13A, 13B, and 13C, discussing the criteria for rejection of the postal ballot. She also briefly outlined the roles and responsibilities of the micro observers.
She provided a PowerPoint presentation to give a concise overview of the Namchi Government College counting area layout for June 2nd and 4th.
Mr. Tshering Norgyal Theengh SLMT, informed the attendees about the accommodation arrangements for the counting officials, noting that those from distant places can be accommodated at SIRD and Chemchey.
The training session concluded with hands-on training, during which the participants engaged actively.
The day saw a total of 180 counting officials participating in the morning and afternoon sessions.
