Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, visits Temi Tea Estate under Namchi District

Namchi, April 26(IPR): Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, visited the Temi Tea Estate under Namchi District as part of his three-day official tour of Sikkim, today.
Upon his arrival at the estate, the Union Minister was welcomed by SDM Namchi Mr Saran Kalikotey, Assistant Manager Temi Tea Mr Pratik Gautam, along with other district officials.
During the visit, he toured the Tea Factory and was briefed on the various stages of the tea production process, including withering, oxidation, grading, sorting, and other essential procedures as well as demands and supply chain of Temi tea in international markets.
The Assistant Manager provided a detailed overview, highlighting the superior quality of Temi Tea, which is cultivated using strictly organic manure practices.
The Minister also evaluated samples of Temi Tea, expressing appreciation for its rich flavor and applauding the estate’s dedication to organic cultivation and excellence.
Throughout the visit, the Union Minister was accompanied by Secretary Ministry of Power Mr Pankaj Agarwal, PS to the Union Minister Mr Vijay Datta, APS to the Union Minister Mr Naveen Kaushik, Liaison Officer SE Power Department, Government of Sikkim, Mr Karma L Gyurme, SDM Namchi Mr Saran Kalikotey and other officials from the Home Department, Government of Sikkim.
