Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Visits NIT Sikkim

Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs visited the National Institute of Technology (NIT),Ravangla, today.
He was accompanied by Mr Y T Lepcha MLA Gangtok, Prof. Mahesh Chandra Govil Director (NIT), Staff and other officers.
During his visit, the Union Minister interacted with the students, tracing the roots of education from ancient institutions like Nalanda and Takshashila universities to the contemporary education landscape.
He highlighted the progressive changes brought about by the New Education Policy and delved into the significance of the Amrit Kaal vision 2047, a transformative roadmap launched by the Prime Minister for India’s self-reliance by 2047.
Furthermore, he underscored the importance of institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIMs, noting their global recognition and appeal to developed foreign nations. He shed light on how these institutions play a pivotal role in fostering international collaborations and partnerships.
