Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar who is on a tour to Sikkim, reached Namchi

Namchi, 16th September (IPR): Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar who is on a tour to Sikkim, reached Namchi, today. He was accompained by DC (Namchi) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar, Sr S.P. (Namchi) Dr. Tshering Namgyal Gyatso, J.D (Education) Mr. G.P. Sharma, Principal Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School (NGSSS) Ms. Bandhana Rai alongside officials from line departments.
The MoS visited Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School and interacted with students of primary and secondary level.
This was followed by a felicitation programme at the school. The MoS presented certificate of appreciations to Ms. Binomit Lepcha, Head Lepcha Language Teacher and Captain, Bharat Scouts and Guides for her exemplary service as a teacher and District Training Commissioner.
Likewise, he handed over certificate of appreciation to the pipe band of Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School, they had won the National Level Pipe Band Competition, 2023 held at the National War Memorial, New Delhi.
Similarly, teachers Ms. Dikmit Lepcha and Mr. Tenzing Bhutia also received the letter of appreciation for their unrelenting efforts in producing state toppers for three consecutive years (2021,2022 and 2023) in commerce stream.
Ms. Esmita Rai was also provided with certificate of appreciation for attaining second position in the state in Std XII, commerce stream, 2023.
While, Ms. Sarvagya Thapa was also given certificate of appreciation by the MoS for scoring first position of 97.2% in All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) for Std X in the year 2023.
The NGSSS also presented a souvenir to Dr. Subhas Sarkar for visiting and connecting with school students and teachers.
After the school visit, the MoS will meet with the district heads and officials of Namchi at DAC Conference hall. He will then have an interactive session with beneficiaries of various Central Government schemes as well.
