Union Minister of State For the Ministry of Education Mrs Annpurna Devi Visited JNV, Ravangla

Namchi, 29th April(IPR): Minister of State for the Ministry of Education Mrs Annpurna Devi who is on a four-day official visit to Sikkim, visited the educational institutes of Ravangla, Namchi District, today.
On the second day of the official visit, the Union Minister visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ravangla.
She was accompanied by the Secretary of Education Department Mr Anil Raj Rai, DC (Namchi)Mr M Bharani Kumar, SSP(Namchi) Mr KL Tenzing, SDM (Ravangla) Ms Trisang Tamang, along with officials from the Education and Police department.
At the outset, the Union Minister was accorded a warm welcome by the Principal JNV Mr Abhijit Bera, Assistant Commissioner NVS Shillong Mr S.K Jha alongwith the teaching faculty and the students.
Meanwhile, the Minister took a tour of the art gallery wherein the arts were illustrated by the students. Thereafter, the Principal demonstrated a PowerPoint Presentation wherein he apprised the minister about the functioning and developments of the school.
Mr Abhijit Bera informed that the school established in the year 2000 has an enrollment of a total of 416 students this academic year. Further, he briefed about the range of co-curricular programs and activities being conducted in the institute to improve the educational experiences among the students.
Speaking with the students, Mrs Annpurna Devi extended her gratitude to the faculty and students for their warm welcome. She said that this school being set up in such location which is close to the lap of nature is a boon for the students to cultivate their academic lessons. Further, encouraging the students, the minister said that the students becomes the future torchbearer of this nation, hence, proper guidance as well as learning through their interest to develop their lifelong skills become the most important characteristic in making them the nation builders.
Additionally, she also explained about the National Education Policy, 2020 adopted by the Government of India to benefit the students at large with their desired interest in their favorite subjects, in order to boost the confidence and inculcate valuable skills based on their dream goals.
Moreover, she also extended her best wises to the students of ClassX and Class XII for their board examination. She added that the idea behind the Prime Minister’s Parikchya Pe charcha is to remind the students that the examination should be relaxed and stress-free manner attaining their best results.
