Women, Child, Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare Department, Namchi Ensures Inclusive Participation in the 15th Foundation Year Celebration of Sri Sri Shiddeshwar Dham

Namchi, 25 April (IPR) : The Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department (WCSC&DWD), Namchi, extended exceptional support to elderly citizens and Divyangjan during the 15th Foundation Year Celebration of Sri Sri Shiddeshwar Dham, held from 19th to 25th April 2025.
These commendable efforts reflect the vision of the Chief Minister’s initiative, “Sunowlo, Samriddha Ani Samarth Sikkim – a golden and prosperous Sikkim”, which captures the state’s cultural richness, natural beauty, and core values.
Under the guidance of the Minister for Urban Development and Civil Supplies, Government of Sikkim Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, a dedicated team of 14 Social Welfare Inspectors (SWIs) and Assistant Social Welfare Inspectors (ASWIs) was deployed throughout the celebration period.
Their role was to facilitate the smooth participation of devotees—especially elderly individuals and persons with disabilities—who had gathered from across Sikkim and beyond to partake in the week-long religious event.
To ensure comfort, dignity, and safety, the Department provided wheelchair assistance between drop-off points and the temple premises. This gesture was a testament to the Department’s inclusive approach, aligning with the Government’s commitment to nurturing an equitable and compassionate society for all.
On the concluding day of the celebrations, all deployed SWIs and ASWIs collaborated seamlessly under the leadership of Mr Shyam S. Pradhan, Social Welfare Officer (SWO), WCSC&DWD, Namchi.
Their coordinated efforts ensured the smooth participation of all devotees during the final religious rites, exemplifying the Department’s unwavering dedication to service and inclusion.
